Book Fun Friday Welcomes Brenda Sparks

Welcome to Book Fun Friday

We're in the throes of the spooky season and today we're featuring Brenda Sparks with her special post:

Vampires, Vixens, and Vengeance, Oh My!

Let's give a big hello to my fellow STAR friend Brenda Sparks!

Brenda Sparks has always loved all things spooky and enjoys incorporating paranormal elements in her writing. Her characters are strong, courageous, and she adores spending time with them in their imaginary world. Her idea of a perfect day is one spent in front of a computer with a hot cup of coffee, her fingers flying over the keys to send her characters off on their latest adventure.

Book Feature:
Alpha Mine  A Paranormal Romance

Log Line:

He stood stone still, wrapped in the darkness of the shadows.

Book Tag Line:

The danger she can't escape ... The past she can't remember ...The one man who can save her from both

Book Blurb:

In the shadows of the night, there exists a band of warriors--a group of vampires, known as the Alpha Council.  Their formidable leader, Stephan von Haas, has vowed to protect not only his kind, but the humans existing alongside them. His duty comes before all else--until a sassy blonde saunters into his life.

When a sensual, dark-haired stranger walks into Katrina Spencer's life, he stirs her deepest desires and sweeps her into a world beyond her wildest dreams. But when Katrina is targeted by Stephan’s enemies, reality shifts into something violent and deadly, as she is thrust into a realm where vampires stalk the shadows and vengeance is coming for her.

Together they will confront an extraordinary destiny of peril, passion, and dark pleasures. But when one horrid mistake brings retribution, their love may pay the price.

The heat in his eyes told her it was time to run, though whether to run to him or from him, now that was the question. She swam away from Stephan on her back. His grin exposed his fangs as he drove in after her. A small squeak escaped Kat’s throat before she plunged into the water to swim away. Kat surfaced and turned a circle, scanning for her pursuer.
The hair on her neck stood at attention. She sensed him near, but she couldn’t see him. Katrina started to drop back under the water when she felt a large hand snake its way up her leg. She kicked wildly, but was stilled by his strong arms. He pulled her under the water to meet him.
Stephan glided her lean body down his own until he found her kiss-swollen lips. He kissed her fiercely,

causing small bubbles to float to the surface. He wrapped his thick arms around her and kicked them to

the surface using his strong legs, never breaking their kiss.

Commentary Question for YOU:

During the week of Halloween, a vampire could walk down the street in a blood-stained shirt with his fangs showing, and the humans passing by would be none the wiser, for everyone walks the streets of Vegas in costume. It is no wonder then, that in the story, Alpha Mine, I chose to have the characters in Vegas for the Halloween holiday. Can you think of a better place for a vampire to be on Halloween? If so, leave a comment and tell us where.

To Buy Alpha Mine(copy and past please):

  1. Well being a Floridian how can I not say St. Augustine which is reputed to have many sightings of creatures from beyond. And as a second answer I have to jump all over it: Key West! where the artistic and other-worldly wander the streets of Duval and on Mallory Square daily! Wish I can go now!

    1. Those are great places, Celia. I couldn't definitely see a vampire not being out of place in St. Augustine. :)

  2. Ooh, at any ComicCon across the country!

    1. Oooh, that's a great idea, Jo Marie. :) It could make for a fun scene in a book.

  3. Well, he might not fit in small town-Midwest :) Or maybe he would!! An intriguing excerpt. Best of luck with the release.

    1. Thank you, Barbara. The right small town might just be the perfect place to find, if he could get in good with the locals. :)

  4. Thank you very much for hosting me today, Celia! It was fun stopping by and your followers have left some thought provoking comments.

  5. I often wonder when I'm out on Halloween night how many people are dressed up and how many are real.Nice post!

    1. I often find myself wondering the same thing on Halloween, Naomi. :) Thanks for dropping in and leaving a comment.
